Uniform
Our school uniform policy relies on the support of parents. The uniform has been designed to be affordable, practical and promote an appropriate image and ethos conducive to effective learning.
Uniform can be purchased at Kinda’s, 23 Station Road, Upminster, RM14 2SJ. Telephone: 01708 223421.
Basic Uniform (Girls and Boys)
All items should be clearly marked with the owner’s name.
Blazer
Black blazer from the ‘School Range’ available from stores such as BHS etc. with a school
badge (latter from Kinda’s).
Pullover (optional)
Black, v-neck with long sleeves, ‘School Range’ from stores.
Coats
Preferably plain black, without logos. No leather or denim. Students should not wear expensive
coats since they are left in school at the owners’ risk. Students are not permitted to wear
their coats inside the building.
Jewellery
Jewellery is not allowed with the exception of watches. Jewellery will be confiscated if it is
worn and placed in the school safe. It will be returned to the parent in person, or the student
may collect it at the end of the half-term.
Mobile phones
Inappropriate use of mobile technology is not tolerated in school.
Girls only
Blouse
Pale green blouse, to be purchased only from Kinda’s. green blouse
Skirts
Plain black skirt with kick pleat. To be purchased only from Kinda’s.
Trousers
Plain black trousers, to be purchased only from Kinda’s.
Shoes
Plain black enclosed formal style, leather or similar. Heels must not be more than 5 cm high.
Boots, trainers, sling backs or trainer style shoes are not acceptable.
Socks
Plain white, ankle or knee length, or black knee length. white socks
Tights
Plain black or neutral shades.
Hair
No extremes of fashion are allowed. For reasons of health and safety, long hair should be tied back with a discreet dark hair tie.
Make-up
Make-up is not permitted. Nail varnish must not be worn..
Boys only
Tie
School tie (from Kinda’s).
Shirt - Winter
Plain white with collar, suitable for wearing with a tie: long or short-sleeved.
Sports/casual shirts are not acceptable.
Shirt – Summer
Short-sleeved white shirt with Abbs Cross logo, to be purchased only from Kinda’s,
can be worn, without a tie, from May Bank Holiday to the end of the summer term.
Trousers
Black or charcoal grey from the ‘School Range’.
Shoes
Plain black formal style. Boots, trainers and trainer style shoes are not acceptable;
nor for reasons of safety are steel toe caps.
Socks
Plain black or grey. White socks are not acceptable.
Hair
No extremes of fashion are allowed. Length must not be less than no. 3. For reasons
Every student is an ambassador of Abbs Cross School and is therefore expected to wear the correct uniform to and from school. On return in September students must wear full uniform including blazer.
